Disaster Recovery
When the phone system isn’t working you are out of business – it’s that simple. It is the single most critical component of any company’s infrastructure and yet relatively few companies have the necessary backup protection for disaster recovery. Until now the following issues have been showstoppers:
- Off site backup systems were not sufficiently sophisticated to handle the dial plan requirements of larger companies.
- Difficult to manage the off site system so that it remained in sync with the active PBX.
- Expensive to implement and operate.
Leveraging our recently developed cloud computing technology (patent pending) Bluestone presents a solution that addresses ALL of the above issues. Lets review them:
Dial Plan
Now any dial plan can be accommodated, whether you need call center functionality, custom call handling or even VoiceXML, Bluestone’s cloud base solution can implement that for you. When your active systems fails and you switch to the backup solution, to the outside world nothing will have changed.
System Management
Bluestone provides web access to your backup PBX so that you can add phones, users, IVRs, custom scripts … access to pretty much everything you would ever want to configure on the system. Do this yourself or call us and have an engineer do it for you.
Expense
With the vast majority of the DR solutions out there being too simplistic in their capabilities, the only solution an enterprise had was to literally buy and house a separate PBX with similar capabilities to their active one. This was prohibitively expensive for most companies. With Bluestone this cost impediment is gone and for an average of around $7 per phone per month you can have a backup solution in place that will meet the needs of event the most sophisticated of PBXs.
How does it work?
The diagram below illustrates the arrangement. The dial plan of the “Regular PBX” (shown in green) is copied across to a mirrored system in Bluestone’s cloud (shown in blue) in the initial set-up of your system
Normal Operation
In normal operation the service provider is connected through to your “Regular PBX” and everything works in the usual way.
DR Operation

If the “Regular PBX” fails then, via your service provider, we switch(1) to the backup system. Employees use cell phones, soft-phones (IP phones on the PCs) or IP desk-phones to connect to the backup PBX. Calls will now come in and be handled in the same identical way as they were on your “Regular PBX”
Don't wait until its too late
Now that disaster recovery is so easy and cost effective to implement don’t wait until that existing PBXs fails, or your building is inaccessible because of fire damage or similar. Act now by calling Bluestone at the number below and be sure that your business is covered if disaster strikes.
Pricing
Pricing is done on a per phone basis, the implementation of hunt groups, ACD queues and the like only affects the setup cost. For example a 50 phone office will cost $350 per month, regardless of the complexity of the dial plan.

Plans DO NOT include 911 coverage.
